Louvre Abu Dhabi

The only Louvre outside France under its floating dome — 43 AED instead of 65, under-18s free.

Louvre Abu Dhabi — Saadiyat Island, Abu Dhabi

from65 AED

Louvre Abu Dhabi is the only Louvre outside France and the leading museum of the
Arab world. Jean Nouvel's building is a landmark in itself: a silver dome of
7,850 metal "stars" creates the famous "rain of light" inside, and the galleries
stand directly over the water like an Arab medina.

✨ What to expect

The collection is arranged by era rather than by country: twelve chapters from
the first civilisations to the present, where Sumerian tablets sit beside Van
Gogh and Japanese ceramics beside Monet. It works even for people who "don't
like museums": the route takes two to three hours and reads as a single story of
humankind.

🗓 Opening hours — the part people miss

The museum is open every day. There is a detail most visitors discover on arrival: the
museum is open until midnight, but the galleries close earlier — at 6:30 pm
Monday to Thursday and 8:30 pm Friday to Sunday (last entry is 30 minutes before the galleries close). You can arrive at seven
on a Wednesday, but you will not see the collection.

Coming from Dubai, plan to be at the entrance at least two hours before the
galleries close: the twelve-chapter route takes two to three hours.

Hours verified on the museum's official site on 18 October 2026. Venues change their
schedules, so we re-check before issuing the ticket.

👶 Free for under-18s

Entry is free under 18 — this is the museum's own rule, not our promotion. Give
us the children's ages in the order and we will issue the zero-price tickets;
otherwise you will have to explain at the entrance.

🎧 Audio guide

The museum app has a Russian-language route — bring your own headphones. For a
live Russian-speaking guide, that is not part of the ticket: see our Abu Dhabi
tour that includes the Louvre.

🚕 Getting there

Saadiyat Island, fifteen minutes from central Abu Dhabi and about an hour and a
quarter by taxi from Dubai. Saadiyat beach is next door, and the museum café
overlooking the water works well for lunch between galleries. Transfer is not
included.

Before you book

  • Children's ages — under 18 the ticket is free, but it still has to be issued.
  • Day and time: arrive two hours before the galleries close,

not before the museum closes.

  • Whether you travel from Dubai on your own or need a transfer and a guide.

Questions and answers

Is it really free for children?

Yes — under-18s enter free, which is the museum's own rule. List the children's ages in your order and we issue their tickets at zero.

Is there a Russian audio guide?

Yes — the museum app has a Russian route; bring your own earphones. For a live guide, take our Louvre day tour.

What's the best way to get there from Dubai?

On your own — a taxi of about an hour and a quarter. Hassle-free — our 'Abu Dhabi with the Louvre and lunch' group tour: transport, Sheikh Zayed Mosque, the Louvre and lunch are included, and the current price is shown on that tour's own card.
